Well I've already talked to enough people about the whole railroad thing so I won't say much. Basically for me what it comes down to is: like everything else it has it's good and bad, it'd be awesome if it could actually be done but chances are low that it'll pull through. Still, I find the effort admirable. I'd like to know more specifics, the ( Read more... )

The railroad seems interesting at least. I don't know if it would really be beneficial or not, but the concept of it is kinda cool.

About pirates, I really do think that they're doing is wrong. There's no sense in going around and 'pillaging'. And this is not because I'm in the military, it's how I've always felt about the topic.

I think if it actually worked it'd be a great idea. Particularly in places like Vohemar and the Badlands where there's actually some distance between cities, it'd be helpful. Not everyone can afford to transport their things by airship, or travel by it and I'd feel other prices would go down with it as well.

Though I totally see everyone's concern about the terrain and means of fuel. The monster thing, not so much. There are just as many creatures up in the air as there are on ground. Just look at the Winding Way's recent troubles with that Sky Whale.

But either way I do agree with you! I'd love to see blueprints of this thing.

While we're on pirates I'll say the same thing I told some other guy. I think it's too circumstantial a subject to judge generally. Yea a lot, perhaps most pirates honestly don't give a damn and are self-serving but thievery in general seems something like many people are forced into because of other things in their lives. I'm not trying to say that personal problems are an excuse for everything bad someone ( ... )

Well, I guess that's true. Airship travel probably does get really pricey. I guess there would be less people on board to run it too, so you don't have to worry about hiring as many workers.

Oh, yeah, definitely. I'd like to see how it works.

Yeah, I guess. Maybe I'm just optimistic. I'd like to think there's always a way out of that option. I guess I don't have room to talk though. I'm kind of a spoiled rich kid from Melior.

Well being optimistic is a good idea. I really do hope for a time when people won't be forced into such situations which is why I'm so anxious for the conference to begin. For now though denying it is just being unrealistic, and we need to make the best of the current situation.

I don't have much experience in building machines, but I can give you a hand.

Also, I've been thinking we need more games on the ship. Maybe you can design some kind of ball throwing machine?

That's great, Amu. Thank you.

As for your idea I'll consider it. I don't feel that Isako will approve, and I can see why--it might become a little distracting for some of the members but I do agree that we need to have something to entertain us on the long trips.

Other than alcohol.
