When your faith in your coworkers as people is restored when you see evidence of their understanding of cross-cancellation.
...that was an awkward sentence. Let's try again.
My faith in M, as a person, has been restored, because I have evidence before me that shows she understands how cross-cancellation works. That's bad.

I would like to point out that I had to look up what cross-cancellation was and still wasn't quite sure what I was looking at. Nor can I convert fractions of any sort.
*is sad*
But...but I write like a BOSS. I have no math skills WHATSOEVER.

Like, you have two fractions to multiply, right? Say, like, 1/3 and 3/5. Normally, you multiply straight across, with the top numbers on top and the bottom numbers on the bottom. That would give you 1*3 on top and 3*5 on the bottom, which is 3/15.
But 3/15, hmm. If you put that into a calculator, you find out it's 0.2. But if you put 1/5 into a calculator, you find out it's also 0.2. So there must be a way to multiply fractions without getting to the end and realizing that we can simplify the fraction. To simplify the fraction means to express it in the simplest terms. 1/5 is simpler than 3/15.
Let's look at the beginning fractions again: 1/3 and 3/5. You'll notice one has a 3 on the bottom and the other has a 3 on top. You might see that they are at a cross from one another. Like, if you wrote down the fractions together and drew a big X through the whole thing, both 3s would wind up on the same line ( ... )
