Not MLS-related, but Giorgio Chinaglia (from back in the NASL days) is wanted by the Italian police for working with the Mafia to try and rig the market to buy Lazio.

If you haven't seen the documentary Once in a Lifetime, and don't know who this guy is, get on it right away. The movie might as well be titled Boy, Chinaglia Sure Is an Asshole, Huh?

I'm not exaggerating a bit. Everyone they interview spends the whole time talking shit about him, and then the interview segments with the man himself give you no reason to think the others are embellishing their stories. It's also worth seeing just for reference material, plus there're several easter eggs for current MLS fans (such as one "HEY! I KNOW THAT GUY!" moment when they show a game vs. the Chicago Sting). Also, you learn that Giants Stadium looked like complete ass even when it first opened, and that's not just recent disrepair you see if you attend a RBNY game.
