I haven't seen the new Batman movie but I doubt his performance was superior to Cesar Romero's. But hey I don't need no 'Academy' or a copy of this year's calendar to tell me what movies to watch and enjoy.

Well you never know how they work. I mean...Return of the King got all the oscars the other movies should have, so you never know ;)

He was robbed for Brokeback Mountain *sigh* I still can't bring myself to watch that movie. I was a mess when I saw it at the cinema let alone now *lol*

I don't think a dead person should receive an oscar. Seems it will only be beneficial to his daughter but I'm sure she doesn't need a statue to know her Dad was an amazing actor.
Doesn't seem fair to the living.

But does being dead make his performance and career worth less?

And there's a lot to be said for his memory (for a specific performance) being honoured by an award like an Oscar, leaving aside any arguments about Matilda's future views of her father...

Besides, it'd be like someone handing you and oscar and going "Psh, you were second best but the guy better than you died. nice work staying alive!" :P
