Round 4: IC Wolfram vs IC Yuuri

Jan 20, 2008 06:48

Checking the tournament sheet, Wolfram was surprised to see his next competition would be against Yuuri. He shook his head then set his mind to it. He was determined to prove himself this time - Maou or no Maou.

He strode toward the appointed place to wait for his fiance.

After his battle with the other Conrad.... which Yuuri couldn't quite understand how he won that one, he managed to get himself from the area for that fight to where he was supposed to meet his next opponent. With some assistence to point him in the right direction, of course.

Convinced that he was walking perfectly fine as he weaved around, Yuuri smiles goofily when he saw Wolfram waiting. Wolfram won his fight! That was neat! Who had Wolfram been fighting? Did Wolfram tell him already? He couldn't remember.

"Wolfram," Yuuri called, "I won!" And giggled. Oooh, he felt a little light-headed.

Wolfram had his arms crossed and already looked irritated. He looked even more annoyed when he saw Yuuri's condition. "What's wrong with you?"

Awwwww, Wolfram had the angry face on. Yuuri poked Wolfram's cheek. "Don't be angry, Wolfram." Oh, right, there had been a question.

"The other Conrad," he said, like that explained everything.

He wrinkled his nose. "You've been drinking..."

"You were really worried about me?" His voice was cautiously optimistic.

Was Wolfram CRAZY!?

"Of COURSE I was worried about you!" Yuuri tired to turn around to look at Wolfram, and almost fell over again. He was failing at walking today. "I couldn't feel your heart doing anything, you know, beating. I thought you were dead, except Anissina put you in that box and said you weren't completely gone.... I had to do something." He had gone back to the Shrine to get Wolfram's heart back, and to confront the Shinou-evil dark thing... thing.

He bit his lip slightly then he quietly said: "Thank you, Yuuri," before assisting him again when he was unsteady.

Yuuri nodded. "This is going on the list," he decided. If he kept better track of the times Wolfram could actually be sweet and not grouchy, he'd show Murata.... something. There was a reason for this, he was sure. He just couldn't completely remember what that conversation had been about.

"I mean you're welcome." He smiled, just incase.

..... "Where are we going?"

"You won yours?"

Gwendal felt somewhat annoyed with the incredulity in Wolfram's voice. What was that supposed to mean?

"So that means we can just stop this now?"

"It is unnecessary for us to continue the tournament. However, as there should be a victor, I would suggest that you and I both forfeit to the Maou. The history books will record him as the victor and neighboring countries would be deterred even more from aggression knowing our Maou is strong enough to win even in a friendly tournament."

"...... All right," he conceded, although reluctantly he didn't like the idea of backing down and bowing out of the tournament in such a way.

Gwendal rested his hand on Wolfram's shoulder. "If you'd like, you and I can fight against one another later to determine the real winner?"

He nodded. "For the tournament the Maou can be declared the official winner," he glanced to Yuuri. "But I would like another contest to see who is the best between us." He respected his eldest brother very much but he still had the drive to prove himself against both Gwendal and Conrad. He didn't like to be thought of as the lesser swordsman.
