Mar 19, 2011 14:08

“Oh dear, oh dear.” The major domo was wringing his hands in the offices of the castle staff. So many people coming to visit, and that going on in the village now! Why? With Lord Gunter ill and everything going on, what was he going to do? Who was going to get them out of this mess?" Shainaga paced and paced, and threw up his hands. The dignitaries ( Read more... )

Murata looked out the window, deep in his thoughts, while the man paced around the room in a panic. He'd been called to this room after the kohi communicated the news to the castle, and since then he'd remained in silence, thinking and waiting in hopes that the panicked people in the castle would eventually calm down. Though at this rate, it seemed like that would never happen.

Hm...so Ulrike's dream had really been warning us, as we had expected... he thought to himself. "The four elements..." he whispered almost inaudibly, trying to make sense of the recent events ( ... )

Shainaga’s hands continued to shake slightly but the Sage’s words had him stopped in his tracks. “Your holiness it would be impossible to postpone the visits!” He whimpered. The other option seemed the best

The same gust of Maryoku was followed shortly after by another stronger burst of two elements crossing together to defeat another. Wind and Water to engulf a furious fire spell. The trees briefly caught on fire but the fire was doused by the water and wind spell, only possible with someone highly skilled in Majutsu. Gunter likely.

Shainaga was too distracted by the diplomatic issues to notice the Maryoku. “We need to ensure that the world perceives us as stable.” He mustered his courage in agreement with the Wise Man’s next words. “We need someone to reassure the villagers. Perhaps Heika could make a speech?”

Murata watched the new developments through the window, hardly paying attention to Shainaga's words. Only when the fire had been doused by the water and wind spell did he let out the breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in all this time. It looked like things were under control over there, but all the possibilities of what could have happened there were making him uneasy. Such a display of maryoku was rare...

"Hm? Right." He turned around again after verifying one last time that there wasn't any more activity in that area of the forest. "He would be perfect for that. The people of Shin Makoku have faith in him." And Shibuya simply had that strange ability to inspire optimism even in the worst of situations.
