Murata had been peacefully sleeping until two things happened:
1. A tremendously loud explosion woke him from his sleep and

She especially did not like waking up with a purple face. Well, a purple everything. But her face was much more purple than the rest of her. The purple was purplest at the top of her head, and faded to lighter purple as it traveled down to her toes. It did not match her hair or her eyes - or any of her clothes.
She wanted to take a bath, but she was pretty sure it would not wash off. Maybe other poeople in the castle were also purple. That would be nice. At least she would not be alone in her purpleness.
She marched off through the castle to find out.

After his laughing fit finally subsided Murata watched the maid leave, and only noticed the other woman when he turned around.
"A-anissina?! Is that you?!" He stared at her wide-eyed. Was this Anissina or her double? Either way, the most important thing right now was that she was purple. "Why are you purple?! Is it paint? I remember one time we painted the floor with some luminous paint. Now the flor-escent what it used to be." He suppressed a chuckle. "Or are we all being affected by that explosion? If that's the case those effects are like soft butter - they spread very easily." Not laughing was getting really hard. "I'm sorry. My jokes are all punintentional. I don't know what's happening to me." He sighed. "Ah, for the love of Shinou...old kings like him never die, they just get throne away."

"It's not paint," she said, when she felt she could. "I seem to have changed color. I was hoping it wasn't just me, but I haven't found anyone else affected yet." She sighed, and frowned harder the more he laughed. "Did you say, explosion?"
