How Beautiful it is to do Nothing

Mar 27, 2010 15:55

A warm breeze was lilting it’s way through honeyed flowerbeds and flickering the patches of shade beneath diaphanous tendrils of an ancient willow. Gunter turned a page with long delicate fingers whiter than the vellum his favorite prose was printed on. His amethyst gaze shifted dully to the untouched cup of tea and fine glass plate arranged with ( Read more... )

It felt great to abandon his paperwork once again. It wasn't very hard to find his friend, Gunter.

He approached the peaceful man and was almost reluctant to disturb the quiet. "Did you see your daughter?" he asked by way of greeting.

"Ah, good day Gwendal! Yes, I did meet her first thing this morning. She's off now getting... something done."

He paused and waved his hand vaguely trying to sort out the manicures, pedicures, hair styling, facial masks, all the mysterious feminine sort of things that had been mentioned to them by the staff when they arrived and decided he didn't need to know what it was that had interested his daughter in the end so long as it made her happy.

"Would you care to join me? I can ask for some more tea."

"Sure," Gwendal said sitting near him. He'd just enjoyed the sauna earlier that morning and had neatly avoided a mud treatment. How could mud make things better?

One of the attendants approached him and he accepted a warm washcloth to go across the back of his neck and two cucumber slices to go over his eyes. He leaned back and relaxed as the woman then went about filing his nails.

"I must say this is probably something neither of us have experienced in a long long time."

"Yes, it's very pleasant here."

Gunter replied amiably and let his smile slip a little wider as he snuck an amused glance at Gwendal with cucumbers on his eyes. Gunter wasn't inclined to let them do anything to him yet. He wasn't in a mood to be man handled by strangers for any reason but the garden was lovely and made more inviting now by some welcome company.

"I'm very glad to see you taking some time away, perhaps we should make this a monthly event?"

Gwendal was snapped out of his silent enjoyment by Gunter's action of holding his temples. He moved toward his friend quickly to ask what the matter was, but it was not quick enough to prevent his friend from falling into the water.

Gwendal jumped in after him and pulled his friend to shore and tried to shake him awake now that they were both soaked to the bone. "Gunter? Gunter? Wake up!"

He held his friend close to his chest and started to return on the journey home to have Gisela see her father and fix him, and if she wasn't there...just have SOMEONE fix him!

(OOC: So sorry....life has been awful drama lately)
