So, how's the reading going so far? I've managed to get into this book quite easily, which is a pleasant surprise, for the fact that I didn't know anything about it prior to the suggestion post

I got into the story pretty easily, too, and five chapters seems just about right. We could pick up the pace a bit if necessary, but I'm comfortable so far.
I don't know a whole lot about the time period, either, and what I do know comes from Les Mis and A Tale of Two Cities -- both novels, and both possibly lacking in factual accuracy. I'm curious, though, to see how the French-English relationship will develop as the novel progresses.
Hmm... Lady Blakeney. An enigma if ever there was one. She doesn't seem, from what little we've seen of her, like the sort to turn others in. But then, we don't know much yet.
No worries about not posting sooner! We understand!
I, also, find it interesting about the narrative. I'm leaning towards liking it, for the honest approach. And, yet, it is odd for the details of the moment, to be seen from years away. Does that make sense? I'm typing in migraine mode, my synapses don't always work right!
