Mmmmm, I really liked this fic. It took me back into the season, making me forget for a moment that we're in the middle of the Dreadful Transfer Window...

I like your Danny, the whole bunch of conflicting emotions he has, his way of seeing the others, the team and himself.

(and the Xabi&Stevie interaction was great too, by the way!)

Dastardly!Martin made me smile (and also think, more seriously, about how many potential friendships have wilted under the competition for a place in the starting eleven)...

I'm rambling a little, aren't I? Sorry... just wanted to congratulate you for having written a really nice fic!

Thank you so much for your comment. =)
I'm glad you were able to forget (albeit only for a moment) about the transfer window... God I hate what's happening still. *sigh*

Oh, no, I love rambles, please don't apologise! =D
I do wonder about that friendship thing too. I mean, you hear about players being friends and everything, but football is such a 'short' career and everything is quite short term and uncertain. I mean, just look at this transfer window! People leaving and coming all the time. Not only would competition for spots break up/hamper friendships (as much as they say they are friends, I can't help but think they really do have one eye on their 'friend' as well), but the dreaded transfer window, as you so aptly put!

(and see, I ramble as well! XD hehe.)

You really love this game, don't you? You so understand it, as is obvious in your writing.

Great story!

(you meant to say childish, not childlike?)

Oh, I really do love the game! Although I wouldn't say I understand it *completely*. I would say I have a fair understanding of the game. Nothing that watching a few matches won't give.

Thanks for your comment =D

(And this is really weird, but I can't find where I put childlike? But yeah, I would have meant that if I can just find it hehe.)

Aw, I loved this. I really enjoyed the bit of footie and the references to Xabi being subbed off and squeezing between Stevie and Nando. And it's so true to life because I was at that match and I saw Xabi gazing longlingly at the bench when subs were being made. He looked so tired.

Thanks for this. It's a gem!

Thank you!! =) I'm glad you enjoyed the football. I'm always worried that people would think there's too much football in my fics, so thanks for that reassurance!

Yeah, I remember laughing to myself during the match when the cameras showed Xabi between Stevie and Nando after he got subbed. hee!

great great great piece.
The feeling and excitement of the match came back to me instantly. It's been a while since you wrote these two together, loved it like always.

Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely comment! =) I'm glad that it allowed you to remember the match, it was a good match, wasn't it?

I did miss Dan/Nando a bit, but the circumstances of recent (and not so recent) times leaned more towards other pairings.
