Chapter Four: I Make A Game Plan.

[ Today, the doors to the high school gym are closed, with a sloppily written Secret basketball strategy meeting note taped to them. Inside, there are no drones, just school-aged kids. ]

Okay, today I want to figure out some basic stuff. First, what have people tried to get out of here? Second, what's the most dangerous stuff that happens here?

"Um, I only know about a vampire. Who said he would get me if I told people about him so please don't all go looking for him or at least don't say it was me..

Otherwise I don't know anything dangerous. Also, you can't leave on foot, at least not by the streets."

"Yeah, if you have them."

Do most people here?

"Some do. Like a psychic kid. Also a kid who has lived for a very long time."

Is that weird for this place?

"I guess not. It would be weird back home. Or at least I think it would be."

Right. It'd probably be good if we recruited some of those people.

"The few I met for sure were little kids. Though this one woman made an electric dog.

Also a guy who says he is pretty good with swords."

Being good with swords doesn't leave when you show up in Mayfield.

"Though getting him back his swords might be worth some effort right?"

Sure, [ I offered, though I'd actually decided Riptide wouldn't do me a lot of good here. If threats like the hazmat team were human, it would be useless in a fight. ]

I'm guessing there aren't any swords just lying around?

"Not that I've seen. It's more typical suburbia stuff, just older."

I was kind of hoping someone's Uncle Billy Bob had a Civil War saber around.

"Not sure.

Not that I've seen yet but I don't know a lot about this town yet."

We could break into houses looking for sharp stuff, that's a way to find out about the town.

"It also might be a way to make enemies fast.

I could ask around though. Most of the people here are actually pretty cool and might give me a clue."
