Sounds to me like you're doing everything right.

One can feel very insecure, dear, but you are doing right. Children get sick, and sometimes their siblings get it too even without cuddling. Just have the medicines and the Doctor's phone at hand. Everything will be all right.

We had teh first fever here, too (39,5) and I was away on a wedding. I felt like the worst person ever.
