So I've been working at this new job for a couple of weeks now. It's not what I wanted, but as far as imperfect goes-- it's not so bad. I'm getting 40 hours a week plus a bit of overtime. I think I would be slightly more enthused if I had my first paycheck in my hand. Hopefully it'll be in the mail tomorrow.

Also, I'm approximately 30 years younger ( Read more... )

It's good your job is...tolerable? Could be worse.

It's funny seeing people from HS sometimes I'm sure. Remember when all the old people told you that "later in life" or "in the grand scheme of things" the "popular" (never understood why they were deemed so) kids wouldn't be so after HS? At least those three weren't ever really jerks - at least not in my experience.

Also, what is this book?

Yeah, those three never really seemed like jerks... Which just makes me wish that I wasn't instinctively competitive (or whatever). Haha I don't know.

And the book was something they gave me at work for a book club. We are supposed to get together in a couple of weeks to have drinks and talk about the book, but I don't think anyone else is reading it really. I finished it kind of fast because I was sick and spent almost a whole day in bed reading. It was a little depressing-- about a 9-year-old kid whose dad died in September 11th attacks. Most of my coworkers refused to read beyond the first couple of pages. They were raving on about how they'd rather read 50 Shades of Gray.

I'm rolling my eyes.

I once made fun of a friend on a threaded discussion at EMU for misspelling "grey." some hooker intervened and chewed me out.
