So I voted yesterday and I am soooo incredibly overjoyed to see that NONE of the governors proposed reforms passed! I voted donna frye though not jerry sanders. I don't hate Sanders so I am okay that he won. I also voted yes on that informing a minors parents of their pregnancy law. I thought what if I had a little girl? I would want to know ( Read more... )

Why would you vote yes on proposition 73? That prop. really irked me. Think of it, there are tons of health facilities available to anyone who needs & wants to obtain help, regardless of age, its (most of the time) free & PRIVATE. Forcing a minor to have to tell their parents what their situation is, causes all the friction of it NOT being private. It's like a right, isn't it? Sorry for getting so anal about it. I'm aware of politics, and am supposed to become a lawyer, so it just makes me wonder why people vote the way the do sometimes.

For one, because they are just children! I look through my old diaries from when I was a teen, and I was ridiculously immature, did the stupidest things (some of which I still regret) and needed guidance, structure and rules. And believe me, i've had it both ways. I lived with my mom and had absolutely NO rules and could smoke pot, ciggarttes and go where ever the hell I wanted without her so much as noticing. i got into a lot of trouble, and did not straighten up my life until i lived in a world of strict rules.

And in so many cases the ignorant parents don't even know they are sexually active. Perhaps if they knew they'd get their child birth control, condoms or have a "talk" with them, or at least would then care more as to the whereabouts and going ons of their child. I don't refute abortion, but I think with such a major thing, just the same as smoking or drinking a ( ... )

I was shocked to see that nothing passed as well! I was certain that at LEAST 73 would have passed. Heck, my kid can't get a Tylenol but he (if he were a girl) can get an abortion? WTF?

I agree with u, I also did not want the law that didnt inform their parent about them being pregnant. I was telling my sister about that law today. Thier was also a lot of pro. that involved teachers and union workers. Cause Im gonna be a teacher and both my dad and brother work for a union. Hey by the way did you hear that the cordovas mom died. Veronica and oso's mom. Yesturday was the funeral, may the lord have her in peace.
