I'd love to vote other (liberal) but like last time the stakes are just too high, and I wouldn't live with myself if I didn't try to prevent 4 more years of mcbush

Notice I put her name first-- as it's a very high likelihood that she'll be running things if they seize power.

I couldn't agree more. I was discussing this with my (conservative) MIL last night. She thinks it's great that a woman is on the ticket, and it is. But she is one of those demographics who sees "woman" and immediately thinks it's good. Rather than seeing how Plain really feels about women and our rights.

After a lengthy discussion, I think I've managed to get her to vote Obama, and goodness knows I'll keep pounding it into her head, but that scares the shit out of me.

keep fighting the good fight! I think I will volunteer to call around FL, where my folks live, and see if I can make the swing in our favor.

There are a lot of things Beca's f'list could do better than people in general.

This.

It's out and out embarrassing to talk to my otherwise open and tolerant father and hear him say that "Obama is Muslim, I hope our country isn't stupid enough to put him into office. We wouldn't be able to go to concerts without some crazy Muslim blowing us up." He buys right into all the Republican fear-bullshit.

When i try to discuss with him Sarah Palin's complete trainwreck of a professional history, then (we were at Publix) and he grabs a National Enquirer and goes "Oh, is this where you're getting your info?" Soooo frustrating.... Sorry for the teal;deer. Just glad for some people with some common sense.

I'm very definitely on the Obamatrain, but I don't get a vote, alas. I will continue to encourage my US voter friends to do so though :)
