Are you actually a member of the Democrats? In this country nobody would ever dream of getting involved in a political fundraiser unless they were a party activist, and there are not a lot of those left these days either. Pretty amazing to see the level of popular involvement in the political process over there.

I am, out of sheer practicality: in many states, youhave to be e registered member of a given party in order to vote in the primaries. Since I view the likelyhood of me voting for a repub in a general election as very very slim, I'd like to have a hand in selecting exactly the candidate for whom I will vote-- so I am a registered dem.

And even if I wasn't, for Obama, I'd bake some cupcakez anyway.
