God made the change just to mess with the biologists for playing on his turf. Its like the dinosaur bones he buried just to mess with everyones heads and make us think the world is older than 6000 years old.

Ok, that's my poor attempt at stand up, but that's also how the creationists quacks will try to spin it.

All I can say is...Duh. It is difficult to believe people don't get evolution. This is why antibiotics need to be changed cuz those little bacteri evolve to be immune.

Well the key word there is "in laboratory conditions." Lenski's a smart guy but his work proves something that we knew 30 years ago, that bacteria evolve in a test tube. Microevolution exists, but there's no proof of macroevolution. If you put citrate in, E. coli will find a way to use it, if you put ampicillin in, most of them will die but some will evolve resistance, etc. But the mutations that are acquired are universally harmful. Put these citrate users, or ampicillin resistant guys in the same environment with regular bacteria, and the mutants are rapidly overgrown and killed. The mutants grow slower than regular, etc. If I see proof of a positive mutation leading to natural selection on a large scale I'll be the first guy to say "congrats science," but the evidence isn't there yet.

Just to play devil's advocate. :)
