I'll go you one better: get a permanent filter. I picked one up for my coffee maker and it's worked fine...there's always a little coffee silt in the bottom of the cup, but it's nothing I can't deal with.
And I'd like to add for #16: regular light bulbs. We switched to the long-life bulbs a couple of years ago and never looked back. They use less energy, need replacement FAR less often, and the savings on our electric bill was astounding.
