Hey Becky, It's been a while but I feel the need to give my 2 cents :) It's funny how things turn out, I totally understand not wanting a child in the hands of someone who is abusive, whether that person is male or female, however, I don't think that the father will end up getting custody of the child. It is EXTREMELY rare that a father would be granted sole custody. I know a lot of people that are divorced as i'm sure you do, and how many fathers do you know have sole custody of their children? Few if any. My point is, I woiuldn't want the child to be in any harm or danger, but I also don't think that it will come to that. I can say this because my husband has 4 children and NONE of them are in his custody, and he is more than capable of taking care of them financially and emotionally. Unfortunately, the law is usually on the side of the mother, whether she deserves it or not. Don't get me wrong, I believe that whoever is fit to take care of the child should be the one granted custody, whether it be the mother or the father. I don' ( ... )
