I got Aradia's ashes back from the vet yesterday. After putting her with the other ferrets, I started looking through their vet files as I thought about them. When I adopted Astro, Moose, and Luci, their previous owners gave me a folder of records. I never went through it all, just made sure they were up to date on shots and checkups. I knew

Luci has seen things you people would not believe. Attack ships on fire, off the shoulder of Orion. She's watched C-beams twinkle through the Tannhauser Gate.

Even at 6 she's a tough little ferret to still be alive. With nothing but prednisolone and a careful diet she's keeping up normal glucose on a year and a half of pancreatic cancer too. The vet thinks the older vaccine sheet is right though, she's probably actually 7 and the second owners got her age wrong. She's at her adult weight on that sheet and that usually takes about a year.
