Kakak (my helper) has been with us for half a year now.

Prior to this, I will admit I had many reservations about getting a maid simply because I have never lived with one before and am so used to doing everything on my own.

I agree! That is exactly *almost* I envision my life to be - erm.. in a few years? Glad that everything is working out fine for you, especially hearing so many stories over the news..
