It's been a while since I read a book that made me feel so angry, indignant and helpless all at the same time but that was exactly how A Thousand Splendid Suns made me feel.

i loved this and the kite runner. i hated the husband of the two women. i have a couple of gripes with both of hosseini's books, but overall, they were very good stories. :)

Both were masterpieces to me - I wasn't expecting to be wowed by Hosseini second time round but I was!

ooh, was just surfing by and spotted this post. coincidentally, i just stayed up till 2am this morning to finish this book. thought it was well-written, making it easy to emphathise even though i've never gone through what laila and mariam had experienced. also made me quite grateful for being born and brought up in singapore.
