Decreases it. And adds muzzle flash. But it fits better in tight spots such as truck cabs.

The 300 JHP loads will decrease the most, but the 600 gr subsonic loads will not decrease any... that was the whole concept. CorBon used to offer the 600 gr load with a powder that fully burned in 9.5" of barrel. The 300 gr load will likely drop 200-300 fps. The 100 gr AL HV loads will not drop significantly, several folks have clocked those at 3100 fps from the short barrels...
