Good advice.

I'm extremely disappointed this information is needed; if i hadn't seen the video, i don't know if i would have believed the story. But you just never know what you'll need to be prepared for out there!

I spend so much time in my car, i always have my carry piece with me, even on short trips. I would hope simply having it would be enough to discourage most acts of aggression.

I hadn't realized many cars shut off after accidents, that is good to know! I guess they don't show that in movies, haha.

But as for protecting the family in general, i like to point out to people that having a fire extinguisher doesn't mean i'm a fan of arson! I don't know what they think the difference is.

Strictly speaking, while those attackers were motorcyclists, I would not call them bikers. In current idiom, "biker" refers to a very different breed of cat---one who'd sooner have his sister in a whore house than his arse on a "sport bike." Under any circumstances. Think Sons of Anarchy.

While it's no big deal here, and I do understand that even as fluent as you are, you can still trip over English idioms and slang, I should point out that there are circles where making that particular gaffe would be severely frowned upon.

I must disagree. Perhaps it's regional, but from at least New Mexico and westward, "biker" refers to any 1%er, not just the ones on v-twin based customs. "Motorcyclist" is basically "the responsible ones".

Really? I've known some 1%ers, and while some of them do not ride custom bikes, they do have a rigid rule against "Jap scrap." Basically, to be accepted among them, much less join a club, you about have to have a Harley (or other American-made motorcycle---the modern Harley clones, or an Indian if you can find one that's running and doesn't cost a young fortune.) "Sport bikes" of the sort those yo-yos were riding are anathema.

Yep. I know a couple clubs in the Bay Area where they not only prefer Jap crap (or Italian, or German) but actively mock (good naturedly) people with "slow ass, can't turn" cruisers. And they're friendly with clubs of the other type, as well. Maybe Oakland is just more laid back than New York. ;)

А нет сведений по количеству стволов у мотоциклистов? В такой колонне даже в России парочка травматов отыщется, а в штатах-то и подавно.
