Turns out that vampires are now real. Stakes won’t work on them because of armor, and other means may be at the defender’s peril because they have official backing. Curious to see how long it will take before the first legal challenge. Also curious why Americans aren’t shunning ( Read more... )

This is impossible in MA, I mean blood/DNA drawn on check point. Wonder why it possible in TN, where you supposedly on guard for your rights etc.

Um, no, it's not. Mass has an "implied consent" law. MGL90-24(f)

Unless you have some evidence to the contrary?

Well, I live here for 13 years and never ever saw or heard of sobriety checkpoints. I guess if you will drive like drunk you will be stopped (if police will see you) and then test will be administered. AFAIK it is in form of walking with eyes closed etc. Now, they may use "Breathalyzer". IIRC if you refuse to acknowledge results of "field" test then they take you to the hospital and draw blood.
But you right, by getting license you consent to be tested if seems necessary. But again, as far as I know, there is no random checks or 100% checks on spots.

You must not pay much attention to the world around you. A quick search shows that the Mass State Police say that they perform "70 to 80" sobriety checkpoints per year.

You can refuse to be tested, in which case you lose your license and face other penalties (and, if you ever refuse again, after getting your license back, the penalties go up drastically). If you do not refuse, then the officer, not you, gets to decide if they will use a breath test or a blood test.

So, pretty much exactly the same thing Oleg posted about for TN.
