From other people, this might manifest as a book they haven't read for ages. But no, in these exceptional circumstances we are confronted with "Dr. Jekyll, your internet usage."

I bet you didn't know I had that, did you?

I hope I didn't get you in trouble; I figured you wouldn't see it 'til later. Also I have something I need to ask you about, whenever you've got time.

You know I don't feel comfortable entering your closet without a map and a ball of thread to follow out.

I blocked the image, much as it pained me. Foreclosure on our house from a sudden plummet in financial stability would pain me more. But I've got about fifteen minutes until I have to go to a meeting - those are not related - so ask at your leisure.

It's not that bad! But what do you think?

Well, you have the real thing waiting for you at home, so. I didn't tell you this because I wasn't sure if they'd reciprocate, and if they didn't I was just going to, uh, pretend it never happened, but I tracked down a few members of my extended family on my mother's side and sent them holiday gifts. And a couple of them have responded, so...I was thinking about meeting them in person. Would you be okay with them coming to visit (staying in a hotel, probably not our house, depending on finances) sometime?

I'm not sure when it would be (not for a while, certainly), but I think I can manage a few guests in addition to everything else.
