I got a bad code in my nodes

First off a warning, there will probably be lots of geek-speak in this post as well as some really bad puns. (Starting with the one in the subject) Now to explain the pun above, I have been playing with some statistics from the processing jobs we have been running on this trip. Though every blade (not cutting edge, except perhaps my first trip to ( Read more... )

Oh, no! Were the people hurt in the helicopter crashes? I think I would not enjoy a helicopter ride. Let's hope all the bad karma is over!

A flight scheduled for the week after the crew change. Yep, that sounds like typical bureaucracy! Hee!

As for the rest of your post, I will just say this. They are very lucky they have you!

I don't know about injuries etc. for the helicopter crashes, I only saw brief headlines and didn't really have a chance to look at them in depth. (Besides, I don't think I want to tempt fate by reading too much into the accdients. There was a time when I thought helicopter rides were cool, but I am a lot older and perhaps a little wiser now.

I suppose the bureaucracy getting crew change date wrong is sort of understandable. If the woman making the arrangements had assumed the normal 5 week trip, she would have been right, but this is a 4 week trip to adjust so that the crew opposite to the one I am on (for now) will not have to do two Christmases in a row offshore.

And as to the last of your comment, maybe they are, but sometimes it would be nice if they would remember that fact. *grin*

I took some time to google the helicopter crashes, and now I wish I hadn't. The crash on 4 September in Dubai, killed 7 people. The Coast Guard chopper that went down while doing a search and rescue drill killed three people onboard and the fourth person on the helicopter is still missing based on the last news I could find on it.

Oh, I'm so sorry ... sorry for them and sorry to trouble you. But perhaps the gods of disasters have been appeased for now ...
