Laura hadn't even tried yet to unzip his pants, but she realized two things: They wouldn't be able to get fully undressed, and there wasn't a whole lot of elbow room.
Reaching between them, she started working on his pants.
"It's not fair you have a whole...zipper and pants to deal with."
Running a hand through her own hair, Laura put her heels back on.
"Well, now I'm starving," she said with a smirk. "You owe me lunch. And yes, that is a challenge, and I'll meet you in the shower tonight."
There was just something about frakking in the middle of the afternoon that just made Laura glow. She loved surprises like this, and she'd needed the distraction very badly today.
"Don't be late - punctuality is everything in the fleet." Bill gave a final affectionate pat to the Viper, before offering Laura his arm. "You ready?" he asked, leaning over to kiss her on the cheek. Neat and tidy now, but there was still something about the way she looked which made him smile.
"Ready," she said as she waited for him to deal with the cameras and security codes. "What will the other people you work with think when the security tapes suddenly start working again?" Laura asked with a smirk.
Bill dealt with the cameras first, telling the computer to resume the feed, before leading her over to the console where he inputted the codes to open the doors. "If they ask, there was a temporary error in the system," he said as he worked. "You know computers - sometimes they have this tendency to go offline. Conveniently." He shot her a wink.
As the doors slowly opened, he looked over at Laura. "Anyplace particular you want to go?"
Bill had seen the cafe before on his patrols, and he nodded. "I'd like that," he said. "And I know they do some good coffees." Once the doors had opened fully, they headed out.
He couldn't resist one last look behind as they left. "One of these days, I'll take her for a test flight," he said, looking at the Viper. "See how far we get."
"And I'll be watching from the observation deck," Laura said with a smile as she squeezed his arm. "And who knows, maybe the station will let you go out. It doesn't hurt to try."
"It lets you go out," he said, "but only so far, before it sends you back." Bill shook his head. "Obviously doesn't want us all escaping. The only exception seems to be if there is a distress signal, or a rescue mission." He paused. "But if I flew around the station...." He'd have to check with K and see if the idea of a regular CAP would work. Either way, the idea was looking more and more appealing.
As he spoke, they approached the cafe. "Well. Here we are."
"I think you should try it. Push the limits of what we've been allowed to do here. And patrolling the station from the outside should be just as important as patrolling on the inside, don't you think so?"
Laura sat down with him, asking for water to drink and not thinking of getting something different, just because there hadn't been anything different in a while.
He nodded. "Exactly what I said to K. And I suppose we won't know what we can do, until we find out."
Bill loved coffee (in all it's forms), and he ordered a strange looking drink called raktajino. He'd never heard of it before, but he'd been assigned to patrol with an employee once who practically worshipped the drink, so he decided to give it a try.
While he waited for the staff to bring out the coffee, he leaned back in his chair, observing the passers-by. "This is nice," he commented. "Makes a change from Galactica rations."
"You know what...I'm so used to not asking for anything other than water and the basic necessities. Maybe when the waitress comes back I'll ask for something else. Though I don't know what," she realized.
"Go for it - this place seems to have a very extensive menu." He chuckled. "I still can't decide what to have with my coffee." It was strange - being suddenly offered such a variety to choose from, after all that time in the fleet, when bare essentials like soap and water were more valuable and prized than cubits.
Eventually, one of the staff came over with his coffee, and he asked for a slice of chocolate cake. "Don't laugh," he said, looking over at Laura. "If there's one thing I've missed, it's the taste of real chocolate."
Bill raised an eyebrow. "All the food in the worlds available, and you order a sandwich." He nudged her playfully. "Where's your sense of adventure, Laura?"
Reaching between them, she started working on his pants.
"It's not fair you have a whole...zipper and pants to deal with."

"How about we just go to the little cafe? The service there is quick enough and we can sit for a little bit and talk if you want to," she suggested.

They couldn't both just eat cake for lunch, and she looked at him pointedly.

"Well, Bill. When you frak me that good, I tend to need a little bit more than a piece of chocolate cake."
