Most adults nowadays seem apathetic,
Grad students, especially pathetic.

the students are apathetic because they are way too fixated with getting their degrees and moving on to well paid jobs while the administration is happy to capitalise on this apathy. i remember this anecdote fondly during my under-grad days wherein this huge strapping SFI supporter force fed the tiny hostel warden abt two kgs of potatoes. that was all we got three meals a day. her radical approach helped. we didn't get any more alloos for a long time. heh. sorry abt the typos. sleeeepy!

True I suppose, I just thought that since a PhD takes a while, 5 + yrs, and grad students are typically a bit a more mature (25+ anyways) that they would want to see some half decent living standards..
