Discipline, discipline, discipline - conform, conform, conform.. If only I had a penny for every time I heard that.. Yes, da would be good to catch up..

I believe that free thought can flourish best after it has grown and been nourished on discipline.

Discipline in the sense of a daily routine, or discipline in thought? Too often discipline is used a way to tell people what to do, and to stay within rigid boundaries.

Hard and consistent work

There's no dispute here, must put the nose to the grindstone etc..

Nobody wants to pay fir someone to improve themselves ...

Hmm.. this is little more problematic - it's sort of what I was referring to as the "commodification of education"..

Hope that your birthday made you feel a little better...hope the fit has cleared up enough not to hit the shan!

Seriously, I think that it's about time for things to improve on all fronts..I am speaking to Head Office about it!

Not to worry too much, Andy.. I tend to write when I'm in particularly crabby mood, it'll probably all blow over sooner or later, it's just a question of hanging in there 'til that happens.. Don't think it'll be too long :-)
