Music is such a big part of my life, can't work without it, don't enjoy reading without it in the background.. Dude, if you enjoy folk music and more specifically a female folk vocalist , do lend your ear to Fairport Convention - a Brit folk rock band with the amazing Sandy Denny's dulcet rendering of their fine songs

Unhalfbricking, Liege and Lief are two famous albums. The history of Fairport Convention is a good chronological compilation.

dear holden,

hey! here's wishing ya a very happy diwali!! may the year to come bring ya loads of health, wealth, good cheer and all that your heart desires for... it is kinda subdued times out here in bangalore. i mean in punjab or delhi for that matter this is our biggest festival and people just go mad :-) lemme see how i can liven things up a bit. btw, i used to love joan baez. have kinda outgrown folk and country genres but powerful evocative vocalists always were/ are thrilling.
ta da,
shalu

Diamonds and Rust is another beautiful song, recounting her relationship with Dylan.. I really admire her for her politics though, perhaps 'cause right now I can really relate to those sentiments..
