I'm not a big fan of memes, but then I can't really turn down a direct invitation, and it is about music, which is definitely a huge part of my life, so here goes.. ( Music meme behind the cut )
1. Total amount of music files on your computer(s)
4.8 GB on the hard disk, many more on MP3 and other CDs
2. The last CD you bought was The Very Best of Deep Purple (30th Anniversary Remasters)
3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message? Rush - Time Stand Still. Always will love this band for their technical superiority over all other bands. Skin thumper Neil Peart contemplated physics and astronomy, before deciding on music. He writes most of the band's songs, and is inspired by The Fountainhead. Geddy Lee sings, finger-taps his bass guitar and plays the keyboards - all at once. Axeman Alex Lifeson has given life to songs like Xanadu and 2112. Superlative stuff, man
( ... )
I don't give an Ummagumma if you think that's far too big a list
Hardly, sanky... Music has become such a big part of life, and I owe you many many thanks for all the musical discoveries from Zep to Dream Theater, without which life would be so much bleaker.. Did you like the Wilburys?
always will love this band for their technical superiority
Will check out more of their stuff, have only 2112 which was superb...
Test for Echo is one Rush album you should not miss...and on the same "note" you might want to also try out Dont fear the Reaper ( a best of compilation) of a band called the Blue Oyster Cult and an album called the Buena Vista Social Club (Cuban Jazz)....
Saw the movie (documentary of sorts) a few weeks back, the movie itself was ok - the soundtrack was phenomenal though! Have managed to subsequently burn myself of copy of the soundtrack.. :)
Will def. look out for Test for Echo and for Blue Oyster Cult...
nice work..totally agree on the Zep,Beatles tribute. Floyd has been strangely out of sight, out of mind in my music listenings of late. Hopefully,I'll rediscover their magic.
the band hasn't been the same since Roger Waters left though..
some people might say it has never been the same since Syd Barrett left. Waters was definitely a big hand in the band's success but let's celebrate Gilmour and Wright and Mason as well.
As risk of sounding like a sacrilege, I don't think I have any of their music from their Syd Barrett days.. I don't even remember now what they sounded like in their madcap days, it's been too long since I heard any of their songs from those days..
let's celebrate Gilmour and Wright and Mason as well
No definitely they're each great musicians in their right.. It's just that none of them really seem to be able to match Waters' songwriting talents.

I think it's one of things you can keep coming back to, and it will still be relevant, the band hasn't been the same since Roger Waters left though..
