If you thought a fly couldn't hurt a fly..

Think again. That clip is from here (courtesy of drglam), they even discuss strategies and things, cool stuff.. If I ever graduate, I think I'm going to do a post-doc on behaviour..

flies, science

My compis too obsolete to view your video clip...but fly eating fly has got to be gross, so I don't think I have missed much! Nice catching up with your LJ....you talk of getting up before noon..but when do you go to bed? Point made!

Blr in the monsoons is LOVELY...but with this new joker crowd in the saddle, the city will go back to the dogs soon!

Hey deponti!
Well isn't fly eating fly, it's fly boxing fly, so it's pretty entertaining, not gross at all.. When do I go to bed? Usually about when the birds start chirping..

Miss the overcast Blr monsoon skies, the mangoes, the flooded dug up flyovers, the works.. December can't come soon enough..

Interesting video clip but it somehow proves Darwin's points about survival and every living organism endowed with even small iotas of grey matter following the road of fighting for survival against peers. I tend to think that some of these characteristics are irrevocably etched in the gene pool.

Your quiz answers were neat. Was surprised you did not get the Odyssey connection, considering the conversation with you about "o brother.." was the inspiration for that question.

Will put in a led zep q in my next quiz.

Cheers..god bless!

Nicely put.. Although I spend my life studying and dissecting those self same small iotas of grey matter.. In their defence they do have about a hundred thousand neurons..

.. fighting for survival against peers.

True, true.. The immediate provocation of the fight was missing from the video clip though.. The two males were squabbling over a female.. So, in the end, it all comes down to women, remove the women from the equation and us men aren't so aggressive after all ;)

Couldn't agree more.. That's the ultimate goal of the research too I think, to find the genes involved in aggressive behaviour..

Thank you, thank you.. Was that the Sinbad question? Good one - really should've got that, in hindsight.. That was a really good quiz, keep 'em coming (with the zep qn!) take care..
