This is a story I began months ago and just now gotten back to filling it out. The middle chapters are missing where Johnny meets the Trom who calls himself Garret and where Johnny destroys the Clockwork Man (I first thought the townspeople had dug a pit and then dropped heavy rocks on the crude robot).

Introducing the Trom in the 1880s presents some difficulties. In current stories, they have a sort of Adam Strange/Buck Rogers level of technology with the flying devices and beam projectors and so forth. But if, in the 19th Century, the Trom were at say 1970s levels, the result might have risible. Garrant demonstrating 8-track tapes or floppy discs to Johnny might have impressed the Kid but would make the reader chuckle.

I do not think Garrant is the same individual who served in the KDF as Leonard Slade. Trom are long-lived because of genetic tinkering and because they take good care of themselves but they aren't THAT long-lived.
