So now we know what happened to Haley Lawson and her mother. As far as I know, Haley is the only person to ever actually quit the KDF and the Order of Tel Shai rather than stepping down to be an on-call Associate Member. This is a big deal because leaving means you give up the Tagra tea which gives enhanced healing, extended lifespan and clarity. (I could use some myself, to be honest.) But Haley is serious and has no intention of returning to the Midnight War. We still do not know why the Heirs of Buliwyf retired after only a few years and seldom used their Elemental Gems afterwards but it does have something to do with why Haley quit the Midnight War and finds herself using the Air Gem less and less. She doesn't know why herself but All Will Be Revealed. Babe Lincoln did tangle with Bane a few times before this story. Like Squid Vicious and the Flying Fool, she's intended to be part of a recurring group of villains who aren't world-threatening menaces but who work at a second-rate level.
