I'm not going to post measurements this week because there wasn't that much change.  I mean, the chest and shoulders went up a couple inches, and there was 1/2 inch off waist, but that was about it, which was sorta expected ( Read more... )

Wow. Good for you! I need a training partner as you guys are. my body seems to be adjusting quickly to the rigorous training. It is far less sore than when I started. However, i think that just means I need to up the intensity so that I actually get some muscle growth.
I am not sure on this one, but I think soreness is a good sign, if not, then intensity is not enough, or the muscle is getting used to the same routines? I think that is why changing the way we do a certain exercise or movement, tricks the muscle into growth. If always the same movement, in the same exercise, a plateau is reached.

I'd normally tend to agree, however we haven't been hitting it long enough for the muscles to get comfortable routine-wise. I think in the beginning stages of a workout regime, the muscles are always going to "bitch" at first... which is why I was in so much pain the first two weeks.

But now that general physical exertion is becoming more accepted, they will tend to respond faster to soreness.

At this point, I think the next step is to increase the weight and see what happens. If I don't get the expected result after next week, I will modify the routine some.

And, by the way, I am finding that I really do prefer free-weights... but still mixing with machines.
