Carlotta hesitates.

"What I really want, in the end I mean, is to go back to the circus I lived at until recently. But it took my father fourteen years to find me, and I promised him I'd try education. And if I make a promise I keep it."

Little shrug. "He says I can't know what I want without trying different things."

[st_kelly]

"Well, if you think he'll believe you that you still want to go back, when you've finished here, then why not enjoy the opportunity? You can practise circus stuff, and it won't be that long."

Kelly smirks at the thought of the kid back-flipping through the hallways to keep in shape.

[fiery_ring]

"I made it clear that the promise is until I'm eighteen. They didn't like it but agreed it was a fair compromise."

She smiles slightly. "I'll do my best. Even if I go back to the circus in the end I'm sure I can learn things here that will help the people I grew up with."

[st_kelly]

"You might be surprised," Kelly tells her. "At what you can pick up, if you keep your ear to the ground."

[fiery_ring]

"You mean like eavesdropping?"

[st_kelly]

"If you like," she grins. "Just keep your wits about you, at least."

[fiery_ring]

Carlotta isn't sure if eavesdropping is honourable behaviour or not, but gives a grin and a nod to the last.

"When in Rome, do as Rome does?"
