People whom I've encouraged here in cyberspace might not easily imagine it, but often when _wind_spirit_ and I are alone, I act all gloom and doom while she's all sweetness and light. Yet the important thing is that both of you had a nice day of walking up the top of the ridge and the next important thing is that yas made it up there!

Maybe Oscar the Grouch needed a cookie? Oh wait, who was that who ate the cookies all the time...

It was Cookie Monster.

When we were on the lower trail, where we expect to meet people, we met a couple walking two dogs that looked surprisingly like Blondie and Maia, though the one that looked like Blondie was obviously younger. (It was carrying a pine cone when first we met.) Strange synchronicity. Or something like that.
