Musing on my theology

Jul 06, 2013 11:41

Early on, God created the niche and the migration path.

I suppose that would make me an atheist in the eyes of the creationists and a creationist in the eyes of the atheists.

religion, musing, politics, theology

A real conversation sounds good. Maybe we'll meet someday. Everyone blows through Las Vegas sooner or later. Elaboration? Not today or tomorrow: I'm leaving on a transcontinental road trip before dawn. Perhaps you could narrow it to where I can write something from the road. Writing the top-level post, I was particularly amused by the political conflicts to which I alluded, and the likelihood that each side would see me as one of the enemy, at least if all they were given was that opening line. But you could be coming at it from the question of God's existence, or whether the niche and the migration path are properly creations, or any one or more of a multitude of different angles. The multitude of possible angles is why a real conversation would be best, but feel free to tell me which of those angles interest you, and I'll see if I can come up with anything coherent.

I may not conceptualize God in the same way you do, but my most fundamental beliefs and my strongest feelings of awe are related to the wonders of of living in a dynamic universe. The career I'm building is focused on ecological niches and migratory habitat corridors, in connection with that awe and wonder; I think I asked for elaboration when I really just wanted to share enthusiasm.
