Monday evening _wind_spirit_ and I hid out from Halloween by doing the tourist thing on the Strip. Along the way I took this picture of OSheasS, the last open-storefront gambling joint on Las Vegas Boulevard, scheduled for demolition at the end of the year:

It looks like the kind of place locals would hang out, always sad to see those go, though I'm not so sure about the loss of the Burger King.

But I suppose you have to make room for Disneyland Las Vegas™.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They're going to replace it with an indoor mall of eateries and shops ("Linq", if you want to Google it). Not the kind of money factory that a gambling joint is. Want it to make less sense? A few years ago, a law went into effect requiring two hundred hotel rooms as a prerequisite for an unrestricted gaming license. OSheaS has no hotel and a grandfathered license. What are they thinking?
