The rental car is mostly packed. We'll take a few hours' nap and then leave for Berkeley. I'll see some of you there. The days following my return are tightly scheduled, at least through the twelfth, though I'll probably find a few minutes here and there to look in on the Internet. Have a happy new year!

I had a camera with me, partly because of the American Express insurance on the rental car (they say they want pictures of the wreck), but I didn't use it this trip.

This time around we discovered the Ohlone Greenway, the Peralta Community Garden (on the Ohlone Greenway, and Juan's Mexican eatery at Carleton and Ninth - all excellent additions to our mental map of the town.

Juan's was one of my hangouts when I lived in Berkeley -- for many years. It's been there forever.
