I absolutely MUST get a new computer soon, so I can upgrade Real Player and view stuff like this. If there's any way I can download that Ann Coulter doll segment, I'm going to post it to YouTube for posterity. I...LOVE...watching it! (Die, you plastic bitch, die!)
That second clip is priceless, too. That might have been one of the first televised clues of Keith's political leanings. He may have some conservative views, but he has a liberal heart. ^_^
Wonder where he got a cranberry-colored suit in his size, BTW. Do you see how big he is on that couch, compared to those other guys? Anderson Cooper looks like a junior-high kid in comparison. XD
Cool, it's Keith, Anderson Cooper and Jack Cafferty. It's funny because I watch all three of them now: Keith on Countdown, Jack Cafferty on Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper(since MSNBC doesn't have a 10pm show).
Haha, I love this clip so much. Seriously, I watch it every few weeks, because all three of these guys are such favorites of mine though are so vastly different, and to see them all together on a couch like this is such win.
Also from the same year, when he was still doing stuff for CNN, the 2002 MLB contract negotiations: here, here, and here. I'm almost embarrassed to say how many times I've watched these things. ;DD
I love the older clips -- esp. the ones before Countdown, before I knew who Keith was. He's done so much in 20 years (because if leaping into the industry directly out of college) that there's always something new to discover.
That was so funny--thanks for sharing! I really like seeing these earlier Countdown videos, because I didn't really discover the show until around 2006 or so.
Same here. I discovered Keith in 2007 because I never paid attention to the primetime cable news. I figured it was all like Bill O'Reilly and avoided it like the plague. Then I discovered Keith when he was on NBC one Sunday. I wish Countdown or Rachel Maddow would be on NBC more often. It would be better than NBC's usual "programming".
Speaking of old videos, I remember seeing one on Countdown when Keith was reporting on some baseball story. It was him on CNN, I think the early 80s and he looked like something out of Anchorman. Bushy hair, bushy mustache, obscene colored suit.

This is one of my favorite clips EVER. I showed it to a conservative friend who hates mAnn Coulter as much as I do, and he got a huge kick out of it.

Re his attire in the above clip: Keith did a Countdown segment with "Ron Burgundy" where they
were both wearing those suits! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/5397886#5397886
