I have yet to see the SC--I'm going to watch it at 1--but early returns were pretty intense. Fears are irrational sometimes, but they eat at us and make us worry. Poor Keith might be really afraid right now. And since NBC has just seen fit to let go of one of its best talents, he may have a reason to be afraid.
Also, Jon Stewart? WICKED BAD TIMING. Mind you I was out of the room for most of it but came back to see him getting all fake-indignant, wearing 2010 glasses backwards, and SPECIAL COMMENT in the left corner of the screen. (This week he's been getting to me not just because the Red Army has stormed in, if you know what I mean, and he needs to shape his shit up.)
I think that SNL sketch about Keith is hilarious, so clearly I'm not totally drinking the haterade, but damn is the timing off, like how Hannity keeps saying earthquake.
I don't think the Stewart bit was bad timing. I was cracking up the whole time, and as a fan of Keith I enjoyed it (I was laughing so hard I was crying).
I agreed with Keith's comment tonight about the supreme court's ruling on corporate donations, but I think he did deserve to be called out about the comments on Scott Brown.
Jon's a media watchdog, and that means all media. He's going to say what needs to be said to keep people in check. Even Keith and Rachel.
