it starts either as a trickle that grows into a torrent, a rush, a great flow ... or as a realisation of something that always was and seemingly always will be.

I like how you put it. As I read your words I hear what love is can always come from friendship. The trickle that grows into a torrent from the spark that ignites friends into lovers. And the realization that something was always there like close friends over the years that realize they were meant to be together.
