November Nor'easter

There's been a Nor'easter blowing through. Our little neigborhood actually don't have it that bad, all things considered. The street's been turned into a stream. It's pretty bad in some of the other cities, down in North Carolina too. My insane ex-sister-in-law came and got the niece and nephew in this ( Read more... )

XDD Oh, the irony. They say this isn't technically Ida, just some remnants combined with a front. Weather's a funny thing.

Wow! IS the road outside your place even drivable? I can see vehicles parked across the road, but they are not really a reference for depth.

Well, my crazy ex-sister-in-law droveup in this, but she's got some kind of monstertruck. My sister says that no cars were trying to get through that. And it was too cold for me wade in. Normally comes up to shins/knees when it's like that. Don't think it quite reaches the waist. (and for reference, I'm an inch or two below 5 feet.)

Not as often as I think it used to. I think it's been a good year or so since the last time it flooded. But when it rains really heavy for a long time, the ponds overflow and we get a lake. XD

I'm just glad this isn't a normal thing. I'd be forced to stick an inflatable raft on my car, somehow.
