What is with the turbohawks! Argh, I can't believe it took me this long to catch on to them, and now that I have, it's irking me that I can't figure out what they're there for. Gaaah, you torture me.

I think revealing that they are cassettes is enough telling on my part. The reason for them being there may actually not be terribly obvious, and doubtfully supported by canon. You'll probably have to wait until it's revealed one way or another. (Do keep in mind though, that Frequency has 'cassettes' of his own. And I do enjoy my throw-away lines. ;)
