EDIT: Bah- embed doesn't work in comments apparently. Or I'm just not doing it right, so links instead!
Oh man- I remember all but the Ray Stevens and the Josephine songs from the Dr. Demento show from... oh man, more than ten years ago! Lemme pull out some of those CDs and try to give you some good ones.
Tripod's song was pretty awesome. I'm gonna have to check them out. I can't believe I forgot They Might Be Giants!! They should be required on any silly song list too! Loved the AMV too.
Voltaire is also good for amusing, black humor/tongue-in-cheek songs. This is Cannibal Buffet.
I've only listened to two songs by Jim's Big Ego, one was a sad, thoughtful song- made entirely geeky because it's a song about Barry Allen/The Flash -but Stress is amusing and reflective of certain people's lives...
Reel Big Fish's You Don't Know is also affectionately called the Fuck Off song and is the song I associate most with Whirl which should probably tell you something right there.
You may not find The Adventures of Duane and Brando as funny as I do (which may or may not be dependent on how you view copious amounts of cursing) but this is their version of Final Fantasy I.
sorry it took so long to get back on this ^^;okamichanFebruary 2 2011, 22:56:05 UTC
Okay, that Final Fantasy one rocked my old skool boots into the air! I watched all their other videos and downloaded the LP of Destruction. I'm gonna have to share that with my siblings too. It's just all kinds of awesome!!
That is my favorite out of that group. The others are amusing as well. (Stress especially) Would you believe I've not actually seen that Monty Python skit?
Thank you so much! I might have to hunt down a Richard Cheese album (or use itunes).
Walkie-Talkie Man was amusing, if only for all the yarn and knitted things they had. XD
Did you have any particular song in mind for Reliant K? They seem to have mostly serious-seeming songs. (unless I'm just missing the silliness in them?)

The Scotsman by Bryan Bowers
Star Trekkin' by The Firm
Pretty much any song by Tom Lehrer or They Might Be Giants, specifically The Vatican Rag by Tom Lehrer
or Don't Lets Start by TMBG
Other songs I enjoy just for how incredibly fun the songs are are Power of the Meat, a remix from Super Meat Boy
An Animaniacs AMV to Chihuahua 2000
Any Tripod song (this particular one being Krap Karate)
And Stephen Lynch (this being If I was Gay)
And then this Star Trek Reboot AMV which is just AMAZINGLY HILARIOUS. Can't embed, so check it out here: http://such-heights.livejournal.com/175172.html?style=mine
Okay that's a lot so I'll stop now |D

Richard Cheese does swing covers of pop/rock music to hilarious results. This is Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know.

I'm sure you've already heard Monty Python's Every Sperm is Sacred and Lemon Demon's Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny but just in case...
And then The Bus Called Graveyard Eight from Penguins of ( ... )
