So over the course of the last few months, I've become increasingly concerned about what's gonna happen to me when I die. Having decided that I'm not entirely sure whether or not Christianity ("the confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart God raised him from the dead" part) is true (an accurate depiction of reality), it's become ( Read more... )

"And... okay, there was a "Muslim's Daily Adhkaar" in our room that Lana didn't know she had or something, and I looked through it. It's got some pieces of the prayers in it, and, as I was reading it, I realized that their Allah sounds a lot like the Christian God- All-Knowing, All-Seeing, All-Powerful, Creator, Lord, and Sovereign- all of these things are written in the book, and all of these things apply to both of them. The only problem, really, is that both are supposed to be worshiped exclusively..."

where'd you get exclusively from? To muslims, Allah, the Christian God and the Jewish God are the same guy. we consider christians and jews (people of the book) as brothers in faith. and not just all powerful, the creater whatever. each muslim prayer is started with "in the name of Allah the Merciful"... all the stuff you said makes him sound lilke a meany....

There's "None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, with no partner. To Him belongs all Sovereignty and Praise, and He is over all things Omnipotent!" That's on one of the pages, and it's got as the citing: "To Be Said Once". And a couple of the others have "None has the right to be worshipped except You/he/Allah."

And yeah, all of this is way oversimplified, doubly oversimplified, actually. I'm sure the little pamphlet was a way-basic version of a few of the prayers, and then I'm simplifying a very few of the things that I noticed... and I only wrote about the things that stood out to me for some reason. So there's a lot I don't know, and even a little I do know that I didn't write. But what I wrote was just what was helpful for ( ... )

I know its rather strange for christians to acknowledge that our prophet was sent by God, too... I know. but the thing is that Allah is God... I know you may not think so, but the word allah means god or "the god" the one and only. Its also known that god has many names, but that doesnt mean that each one in each culture is different ( ... )
