Solo traveling

I'm considering starting to do some solo traveling.  There are so many places I want to go and although I would prefer to travel with someone I don't want to not go just because of that.  Have any of you traveled solo?  I seem to be asking my livejournal friends lots of questions lately

I've only done weekend trips solo (the longest trip I've taken alone was 4 days), but I really enjoyed it. You call the shots about what to see, you don't have to do things you don't want to, and you meet people easier. A trip that's more than a week might be a little lonely though; I don't know.
