Wait, what?! What? What's going on?! I have this inkling, but I don't know that I can trust it. And that's all kinda' brilliant, but at the same time I'm just left feeling shaken! Which must surely be your aim, yes? Whaaa! What was Sam not managing to notice at first? The lack of dream!Dean's heartbeat? The temperature of his touch? Something in his eyes? Is this Lucifer trying to break Sam down into agreement, just like he did with Nick in the beginning of S5?!
Will there be more, or are we meant to be left flailing? I'm cool with either I guess, but I want to know if you know, you know?! ; )

Haha, well, I'm glad you're shaken up! :) What Sam wasn't noticing, at least in the beginning, was simply that Dean looked really tired. It might have morphed into something else as the story went on. ;D
To be honest, what was really wrong with Sam is as much a mystery to me as it is to you! I try not to write with strict guidelines as to what the whole picture is, you know, it's just the cliche of 'the story writes itself'. I'm afraid I probably won't be continuing it, but if there's any possibility, it would be that I go back and write a version of Dean's POV.
Thanks again!

Yes, I like the prospect of taking something so mundane and common and twisting it into a weapon of sorts. Thank you very much!

Once upon a time I put up a prompt about Sam having nightmares of Dean killing him, and the prompt never got filled.

So now I am taking your fic as not only brilliant in itself, but a present to me personally.

Thank you!

Oh, yay! :) I'm glad I could be of service to you. I'm pretty surprised myself to say I haven't stumbled upon much anything of the Dean-hunting-Sam variety. It's good to know the idea's at least out there.
Thank you, as well!
